Our Story: A Vision for the Arts
The journey began in 2016 when founders Vanessa Venter and Mariëtte van Rooyen started teaching Early Childhood Development classes. While Mariëtte held a long-term dream of establishing a full Theatre School, it was in February 2022 that the vision received specific direction.
Through a prophetic word about a “new song” and Vanessa’s parallel dream about music production, their paths aligned. On July 14th, 2022, El Risha was formally established as a sanctuary for the arts.
Who is El Risha?
The name El Risha means "Beautiful Feather", symbolising true worship under the protection of God.
Our studio serves as a stronghold for the arts, providing a platform to:
